Shirodara Treatment

The Sanskrit word Shirodhara is made up of two words: Shiro (head) and dhara (steady flow). In the ancient Ayurvedic Shirodhara treatment, a warm herbal oil concoction is slowly and steadily poured over the mystical third eye (the point between the eyebrows) while the client comfortably lies on a massage table or similar.

For your convenience, our Ayurveda Center in Miami uses a state-of-the-art Shirodhara machine for our treatments. This allows for a continuous steady flow, constant oil temperature, and no oil spills.

Among its countless benefits, Shirodhara treatment helps to reduce stress and anxiety levels, improve mood, awaken intuition, clear the mind, improve sleep, achieve deep relaxation states, and strengthen hair roots.

Finally, Shirodhara is contraindicated in clients currently suffering from any acute viral disease or fever, brain tumors, nausea, vomiting, recent neck injury, jaundice, congestion, or excessive fatigue, a history of epilepsy, and in pregnancy.

Panchakarma Detox

Panchakarma is meant to purify the whole body by eliminating the accumulated toxins from it. It is also believed to have a rejuvenating effect when it is subject to a healthy person. Panchakarma, which in Sanskrit stands for five therapeutic actions, is a cleansing and rejuvenating program for body, mind and consciousness.

Although the therapeutic measures may appear quite simple, its effects are extremely powerful to the point that Ayurveda considers it necessary before the beginning of any other therapy.

The logic behind this is that the body needs to be cleansed from all impurities before being exposed to a rejuvenation program, just as you would do with any garment before dying it with a new color or a piece of furniture before being polished.
